Urban Farm Girl & Co.

From the farm, fresh to your table

Welcome!

Urban Farm Girl and Company proudly grows a variety of fresh, seasonal and local vegetables in Delta, BC. We share our bounty through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Harvest Box Program.

Our 2016 CSA Harvest Box Program will begin mid-June and run to the end of September.

Please register by March 30, 2016, if you’re interested in receiving local, farm fresh, quality vegetables on a weekly basis this summer, and are ready to taste the difference. We grow our vegetables using ecologically friendly and organic farming practices.

CSA Program 2016 - June 11 to September 24 (16 weeks)

CSA

What is CSA? CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, which is a model of agriculture that connects farmers and consumers, and helps make small-scale, local farming a sustainable option. CSAs help farmers by providing income early in the season when startup costs are high, and a guaranteed market for the farmer’s produce.

By signing-up to become a CSA member, you are purchasing a “share” of vegetables for the coming harvest year. Members will receive a weekly box of fresh produce throughout the harvest season. However, due to seasonal variations the start and end dates may vary by one week.

How much does the Program cost?

Our harvest box is $550. This equates to a value of $34/box, per week for 16 weeks. Our share usually consists of 7-10 different varieties of fresh, seasonal vegetables from our fields.

Members can purchase add-ons to their harvest box for an additional charge. Please contact us about completing a fresh sheet no later than a Thursday, prior to your delivery.

What can I expect in a box?

Every box is filled with fresh produce from our field. We try to vary the produce each week to provide you with more variety. A weekly box could include vegetables such as radishes, lettuce, cauliflower, bunches of beets, carrots, and parsley, curly kale, swiss chard, red onions, and zucchini.

Pick-up Days:

Boxes can be picked up in the cul-de-sac along Byrnepark Walk, Burnaby on Saturday’s from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

New drop off locations can be created with a minimum of 10 CSA members in the area.

What if I cannot pick up my share?

We encourage you to pick up your share during the allotted pick-up window. If you have a scheduling conflict and cannot pick up your share during the given timeframe, we encourage you to have someone pick-up your share on your behalf.
